Fourth of July fun is just around the corner. Get prepared and be safe with our Fireworks safety tips.
Fireworks Safety Tips:
- If you plan to use fireworks, make sure they are legal in your area.
- The best way to enjoy fireworks is to visit public fireworks display put on by professionals who know how to handle fireworks safely.
- If you’re lighting your own fireworks always have a fire extinguisher on hand. If you don’t have one contact Fire Ranger.
- Know how to operate the fire extinguisher properly – Contact Fire Ranger for certified training classes or click here for more information.
- Supervise children around fireworks at all times.
- Never light fireworks indoors or near dry grass.
- Do not wear loose/ hanging clothing while using fireworks.
- Stand several feet away from lit fireworks.
- Always read the directions and warning labels on fireworks. If a device is not marked with the contents, instruction, and a warning label, do not light it.
- Do not try to re-light or handle malfunctioning fireworks.
- Always have a bucket of water and a fire extinguisher nearby.
- Soak unused fireworks in water for a few hours before discarding.
